Project description
Traumatised pupils pose a major challenge in an inclusive context. However, in German-speaking countries, there is a lack of an inventory of the experiences and needs of teachers, pupils and parents with regard to dealing with trauma in inclusion. On the other hand, there are no evidence-based concepts for diagnosing and supporting traumatised pupils. As part of the research project, we are examining a) the experiences and needs of teachers, pupils and parents with regard to trauma-sensitive diagnostics and support in inclusive schools, b) the extent to which a participatory, integrated system of methods for trauma-sensitive diagnostics and support in inclusive schools (TRAILS system) can be implemented and c) what effects are shown in relation to various characteristics.
The primary target group of this project are pupils at inclusive secondary schools (Hauptschule, Realschule and Gesamtschule) who are at increased risk of mental disorders due to traumatic experiences of flight, as well as their teachers and parents. The methods developed in the project will be made available to teachers and pupils free of charge as an Open Educational Resource (OER). A randomised NRW representative sample will be constituted for the study.
